Settlement sits in the high Apennines of Abruzzo; the local landscape is a high plateau and surrounding mountain ridges. The Sirente and the Gran Sasso massifs are the principal nearby ranges. The Campo Felice / Ovindoli ski area (including Monte Magnola lifts) is within roughly 10 km.
