Noto is the nearest town of size and has one of the main Baroque historic centres in Sicily; the late-Baroque towns of the Val di Noto are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Avola is nearby for everyday services and the coast road links south toward Pachino and Marzamemi and north toward Siracusa.
