Villa Santa Lucia degli Abruzzi

The cluster sits on the Gran Sasso side of inland Abruzzo, with the Gran Sasso d'Italia massif within the local horizon and Campo Imperatore reached by mountain roads in the same mountain system. It is inside the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. The Tirino valley is nearby, and this part of the province is known for high limestone uplands, pasture, and small stone villages. The nearest larger town is L'Aquila, which provides the main range of services and rail connections for this side of the province. Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Rocca Calascio are nearby hill settlements known for their preserved historic fabric, and the area around Calascio is one of the best-known mountain landscapes in Abruzzo.
