L'Aquila-Capestrano: casa cielo terra con giardino

The cluster sits in the Tirino valley below the Gran Sasso d'Italia and the Sirente massif, with the Campo Imperatore side of the Gran Sasso and the Monte Sirente area both within this radius. The Tirino river runs through the area, and the valley is known in Abruzzo for very clear spring-fed water. Part of the surrounding landscape falls within the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park and the nearby Sirente-Velino Regional Park. Capestrano itself has a medieval castle over the village, and the area is known for the Warrior of Capestrano find now associated with the town. The nearest larger town is L'Aquila, which provides the main range of services and administrative functions.
