L'Aquila-Cese di Preturo: casa cielo terra ristrutturata

The cluster sits in the central Apennines; the Sirente‑Velino and the Gran Sasso massifs form the distant skyline, with the higher peaks of Gran Sasso (including Corno Grande) roughly 20–30 km to the east. The Aterno river runs through the L'Aquila basin nearby. The Sirente‑Velino regional protected area occupies the mountains to the south/southeast and is reachable by short drives. Nearest alpine ski lifts are at Campo Felice / Ovindoli (roughly a 30–45 minute drive); larger Gran Sasso ski facilities lie further out. L'Aquila (provincial capital, population roughly 70,000) is within about 15 km and provides a university, the San Salvatore hospital, a railway station and historic monuments such as the Basilica di Collemaggio and the Forte Spagnolo. The area is part of inland Abruzzo and is known locally for mountain agriculture and pastoralism and for being in a seismically active zone (the 2009 earthquake heavily affected L'Aquila and surrounding communes).
