The town sits on the low-lying Venetian plain and the Piave river runs close to the municipality and its floodplain; the area is crossed by irrigation channels and levees. Nearest ski lifts are in the Dolomites and only reachable by a drive of around one to two hours. The nearest town of size is Treviso (provincial capital) roughly a dozen kilometres away, with a mainline rail station and the nearby Treviso airport (Treviso-Sant'Angelo / Antonio Canova) serving low-cost carriers. The local economy is agricultural and horticultural; the province around Treviso is known for products such as radicchio and general market gardening. The Piave river corridor is historically notable for World War I battles along the river.
