The Sagittario valley begins nearby, and Sulmona is the nearest town of size, with a preserved historic centre, rail station and the main services for the area. The Majella National Park lies partly within this surrounding mountain area. The nearest ski slopes are at Passo San Leonardo on the Majella, roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive depending on road conditions.
