Rustico in Magliano de' Marsi

The cluster lies on the western foothills of the Sirente‑Velino massif (central Apennines); the Sirente ridge is within roughly 15 km. The Fucino plain—the drained basin of the former Lake Fucino—is immediately to the northwest and is an intensively farmed agricultural plain. Part of the Sirente‑Velino Regional Park (protected mountain pastures and wooded slopes) is inside the 15 km radius. The nearest town of size is Avezzano (about 10–12 km), which has a hospital, a train station on the Rome–Sulmona–Pescara line, supermarkets and light industry. The local area (Marsica) is known for agriculture on the Fucino plain and for mountain pastoralism in the surrounding hills.
