The cluster is in the Ligurian Apennines, in the upper Orba valley near the Monte Beigua massif. The Beigua Regional Nature Park lies in this area, with wooded slopes, rounded mountain ridges and passes linking the inland valleys to the Ligurian coast. The Orba river runs through the valley. The nearest ski lifts are the small facilities at Prato Nevoso and Limone Piemonte, both well beyond the local radius and not part of the immediate landscape. The nearest larger towns for services are Varazze and the coastal centres of western Genoa province, while inland Ovada is the main town on the Piedmont side. The wider area is known for hiking, chestnut woods and the geopark landscape of the Beigua massif; UNESCO Global Geopark status applies to the Beigua area.
