This is hilly countryside in the lower Misa valley, with a mix of fields, olive groves and small wooded slopes between the Adriatic plain and the first inland Marche hills. The Misa river runs nearby and the Adriatic coast around Senigallia is the nearest sea frontage, but it is outside the immediate landscape. Senigallia is the nearest town of size, with a rail station, full services and a well-used seafront. The area is known for mixed agriculture and wine-and-olive country typical of this part of the Marche.
