Via Mondo, 20, Montechiaro d'Asti

This is the Monferrato hill country, with low ridges, vineyards, arable fields and small woods around the village. The area lies close to the Val Rilate and the wider Tanaro basin landscape. Asti is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre, rail connections and services. The wider area is known for wine, especially Barbera and other Monferrato denominations, and for mixed vineyard-and-farm countryside typical of the Astigiano.
