The cluster is in the upper Ofanto valley in the Campanian Apennines, with wooded ridges and farmed slopes around Teora. The Ofanto river basin is the main natural feature in this area. Monti Picentini Regional Park lies to the west, with the nearest access around Bagnoli Irpino and the Laceno area, roughly 30–40 minutes by road, and the ski lifts of Lago Laceno are about the same order of drive. The nearest larger centre is Avellino, which provides the main range of services, while Lioni and Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi are the local service towns for everyday needs. This part of Irpinia is known for upland agriculture, chestnuts, and dispersed hill villages rebuilt after the 1980 earthquake.
