Casale in Castel San Pietro Terme

The cluster sits on the northern edge of the Apennine foothills (Appennino Emiliano‑Romagnolo) with low rolling hills to the south and the agricultural Po plain to the north. Castel San Pietro Terme is a town built around thermal springs and spa facilities. The nearest larger town is Imola (within about 12–15 km), which hosts the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari (motor-racing circuit), a hospital and a railway station. The regional capital Bologna (and Bologna G. Marconi airport) lies roughly 28–30 km to the northwest (outside the 15 km radius). There are no major lakes or national parks inside the immediate 15 km radius; alpine ski lifts are in the higher Apennines substantially farther away.
