This is rolling inland countryside of the Esino valley and the first Marche hills, with fields, olive groves and scattered villages. The Esino river runs to the south of the area. Jesi is the nearest larger town and has a substantial historic centre, services and rail connections. The area is known for Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi wine and mixed farming.
