Scalea is the nearest larger seaside town, with a rail station, marina and a substantial old centre on a hill. Diamante is nearby on the same coast and is known for mural-painted streets and for cedro cultivation in this stretch of coast. This part of Calabria is known for cedro groves, beaches and the contrast between coast and mountains.
