Sibari is the nearest centre of note on the coast, known for the archaeological area of Sybaris. Corigliano-Rossano is the nearest larger urban centre with wider services, rail connections and a port area. This part of Calabria is known for citrus, olive groves and the archaeological remains of Magna Graecia on the plain.
