Corigliano-Rossano is a large town and has extensive modern built-up areas, services, shopping and rail connections; the urban cap applies here because the cluster is inside a city above 50,000 residents. The area is known for citrus groves and olive cultivation on the plain and lower hills, and for the historic centres of Corigliano and Rossano, including the ducal castle at Corigliano and the Codex Purpureus of Rossano, which is on UNESCO's Memory of the World register.
