Contrada Bognanni, Militello in Val di Catania

The cluster sits in the inland hills between the Catania plain and the Hyblaean plateau. Militello in Val di Catania has a large Baroque old centre rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake and is part of the UNESCO listing of the Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto. The nearest larger city is Catania, which provides the full range of services, rail links and the airport. This part of south-eastern Sicily is known for mixed arable farming, olive groves and citrus in the lower ground.
