Via Gran Linea, Codigoro

The cluster lies in the lower Po plain, in the reclaimed delta landscape between canals, embankments and flat farmland. The Po di Volano and the branches of the Po Delta are the main water features in this area. The Parco regionale del Delta del Po is within this radius, with lagoons, fishing valleys and wetlands around the eastern side toward Pomposa and the routes to the coast. Pomposa Abbey is near Codigoro and is one of the main historic monuments of this part of the province. The nearest town of size is Ferrara, which has the full range of services and a UNESCO historic centre, but it is outside the immediate landscape and does not raise the score. This area is known for delta wetlands, birdlife, fishing valleys and land reclamation.
