The cluster is in the Ligurian Apennines, in the upper Val d’Aveto, with wooded mountain slopes and pasture around the valley floor. The Aveto river runs through this area. Much of the surrounding territory falls in the Aveto Regional Natural Park. Santo Stefano d’Aveto, the main centre of the valley, is nearby and has basic services and an old village core. The nearest ski lifts are at Santo Stefano d’Aveto on Monte Bue, roughly a 20-minute drive from Rezzoaglio. The area is known for mountain pasture, forests and local dairy products, especially the formaggio d’Aveto tradition.
