Chalet in Cogoleto

The cluster lies on the Ligurian Sea coast. The Ligurian Apennines rise immediately inland, including the Beigua massif. The area is within and adjacent to the Parco Naturale Regionale del Beigua, a UNESCO Global Geopark. A regional coastal railway line (Genoa–Ventimiglia) serves Cogoleto and the A10/E80 motorway has an exit for the town. The town has beaches, bathing establishments and a small harbour. The nearest large city is Genoa (regional capital, with an international airport, major hospitals and university); Savona is the nearest provincial centre. The area is used for seaside tourism on the coast and hiking/outdoor recreation in the Beigua park.
