Casaletto degli Ulivi

The cluster sits on the Monte Argentario promontory on the southern Tuscan coast. The Tyrrhenian Sea surrounds the promontory and two sandy tombolos, Giannella and Feniglia, connect it to the mainland and partly enclose the Laguna di Orbetello. The Laguna di Orbetello is a coastal lagoon with wetlands and birdlife and is subject to local nature protections. The area includes the ports/towns of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, both with fishing harbours and ferry services (seasonal) to the Isola del Giglio. The promontory has forested areas and Mediterranean scrub, rocky sea-cliffs, small coves and sandy beaches. Marina and yachting facilities are present at Porto Santo Stefano and the coast is used for boating, fishing and beach tourism. Nearest larger city is Grosseto to the north (around 40 km); the coastal rail line serves Orbetello/Albinia for regional connections. There are no ski lifts or alpine ranges within the 15 km area.
