Gerfalco: abitazione luminosa con vista sulla valle

The cluster lies in the Colline Metallifere (the Metalliferous Hills), a low, wooded hill range of southern Tuscany. Within about 15 km the terrain is dominated by mixed woodland (oak and chestnut) and small agricultural parcels across rolling hills and narrow valleys. The immediate area includes the remains and archaeology of historical mining activity (medieval and later) that gave the hills their name. There is no coastline or large lake within 15 km (the Tyrrhenian coast is farther to the west). There are no ski lifts within 15 km. Massa Marittima is the nearest town of size (about 10–15 km), with a medieval centre and a cathedral and local shops and services. No national park or UNESCO site lies inside the 15 km radius.
