The area around
Location score 58/100Semproniano is a hilltown in the inland Maremma of southern Tuscany, province of Grosseto. Within about 15 km the terrain is hilly farmland and mixed woodland with olive groves, vineyards and chestnut and oak woods. The Albegna river and its tributary valleys run through this sector of the Maremma. Nearby comuni and villages include Manciano (the nearest larger town and municipal seat) and Roccalbegna; Manciano provides shops, bars and municipal services and its comune contains the Saturnia thermal springs. The wider area is known for medieval hill towns and Etruscan archaeological sites in the Pitigliano–Sovana–Sorano area. There are no large lakes or coastline inside a 15 km radius; the Tyrrhenian coast lies further west. Winter-sports facilities on Monte Amiata are present in the region but are more than 15 km from Semproniano.
