The cluster is in the Argentina valley, with the Ligurian Alps rising inland and the lower valley running down to the Riviera di Ponente. The Argentina river passes through Badalucco. The Parco naturale regionale delle Alpi Liguri lies inland up the same valley. The nearest ski area is Monesi di Triora, about an hour’s drive depending on road conditions. The nearest larger town is Sanremo, which has full services, a marina, rail connections and the main commercial centre of this part of western Liguria. Triora, further up the valley, is one of I Borghi più belli d’Italia. This part of the province is known for olive cultivation, especially Taggiasca olives and olive oil, and for the old hill villages behind the coast.
