The cluster lies on the Salento peninsula in southern Puglia where the local ground is largely limestone karst and the terrain is flat to gently undulating. The surrounding countryside is agricultural, with extensive olive groves, vineyards and arable fields and active olive-oil production. The Adriatic coast of eastern Salento is about 10 km away; the nearby shoreline in this part of Salento includes both rocky stretches and sandy beaches. The area is part of Grecìa Salentina, a cultural-linguistic zone where the Griko dialect and related traditions persist. There are no significant mountains or ski facilities within the local 15 km radius. Nearest larger urban centre is Lecce (provincial capital) for major services and rail links; nearer towns such as Maglie provide day-to-day shops, schools and basic medical services. There are no national parks within 15 km; the locality is known locally for its olive oil production and Salento cultural traditions (music, festivals, Griko heritage).
