The cluster sits in the Valmareno at the foot of the eastern Prealps, with the Belluno Prealps immediately around it and the higher Dolomites farther north. The Piave is the main river of this part of the province, flowing a few kilometres to the west, and Lake Revine lies within the local hill-and-mountain basin. The area is tied to the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape of steep vineyard slopes and small hill settlements, and Cison di Valmarino itself is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia. The nearest sizeable town is Vittorio Veneto, which has full services, rail connections and a substantial historic centre. This part of northern Treviso is known for hillside vineyards, woods and old villages along the route toward the passes into Belluno.
