The area sits on the inland Marche hills with long views across the middle Esino valley and toward the Apennine ridge to the west. Cingoli itself is a substantial historic hill town with walls, churches and a built old centre, and it is known as the "Balcone delle Marche" for its elevated position. Lake Cingoli, the artificial reservoir of Castreccioni, lies just below the town and is the main local water feature. The nearest larger town is Jesi, which provides a full range of services and rail connections. This part of inland Marche is known for mixed farming, olive groves and rolling hill landscapes rather than for a single protected landmark within the immediate area.
