Lake Fondi lies on the coastal side of the town, with marsh and reclaimed lowland between the historic centre and the Tyrrhenian shore. The Monti Ausoni e Lago di Fondi Regional Park covers much of the surrounding limestone hills and the lake area. The nearest substantial seaside strip is the long beach between Fondi and Sperlonga. Terracina is the nearest larger town of size, with full services, a rail connection nearby at Monte San Biagio-Terracina Mare, and the main coastal route to Rome and Naples. Sperlonga, on the same coastal stretch, is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia. The area is known for the Fondi plain's horticulture and fruit production, and for the coastal lakes and limestone foothills typical of the southern Lazio littoral.
