Cascina in Nerviano

No mountains or lakes within 15 km; the area is the Lombardy low plain northwest of Milan. The Parco Regionale delle Groane, a regional park of pine woods and heath, lies immediately to the east/south-east of Lainate. The Parco del Lura, a linear green corridor along the Lura stream, crosses the local area. Lainate is the location of Villa Visconti Borromeo Litta, with its historic villa and nymphaeum. The Rho–Fiera exhibition complex (Fiera Milano) and the towns of Rho, Arese, Garbagnate Milanese and Saronno are within about 15 km and supply larger shops and services. The A8/A9 motorway network runs close to the town and Milan’s urban area begins to the south-east. Malpensa airport is further to the north-west (roughly 20–30 km). There are no ski lifts or national-park mountain landscapes inside the 15 km radius.
