Termini Imerese

The cluster is on the Tyrrhenian coast at the foot of the first inland hills east of Palermo, with the Gulf of Termini Imerese immediately present. The San Leonardo river reaches the sea here. The Madonie range rises inland to the southeast, but the main massif is mostly beyond the 15 km radius. Termini Imerese is the nearest town of size and has a port, rail station, services and a substantial historic centre. Palermo is the nearest major city for higher-order services and transport, but it is farther west and does not affect the score. The area is known for its coastal position between Palermo and Cefalù and for the thermal history of Termini Imerese.
