The cluster lies on the upper Friulian plain at the foot of the Carnic Prealps, with the Cansiglio plateau and the first wooded slopes of the Aviano-Piancavallo area within about 15 km. The Meduna and Cellina river system shapes this part of the plain, with broad stony riverbeds and irrigation channels across the countryside. The nearest substantial town is Pordenone, which has a full range of services, a historic centre and rail connections. Piancavallo is the nearest ski area, roughly a 40-minute drive uphill from this area. The zone is known for its transition from plain to prealpine foothills and for vineyards and mixed farming on the Friulian plain.
