Casa colonica in Soragna

Soragna sits in the lower Parma plain between the Po and the first Apennine foothills, in a flat agricultural landscape of fields, canals and scattered farm buildings. The Po is within this radius to the north, and the area is part of the broad Bassa Parmense plain shaped by irrigation and river deposits. Fidenza is the nearest larger town, with rail services, shops and everyday services; Parma is farther but important for higher-order services and transport. Soragna is known locally for the Rocca Meli Lupi and for food production in the Parma lowlands, especially the wider zone of culatello, Parmigiano Reggiano and cured meats.
