Montefabbri rudere

The Adriatic coast lies to the east of the town. The landscape within 15 km is coastal plain and low rolling hills leading to the Marche Apennine foothills further inland. The Foglia river valley is the main local valley running through the Pesaro area. There are no ski lifts within 15 km; Apennine ski areas are a drive to the inland mountains. The nearest city of size is Pesaro, which has an Adriatic-line railway station, beaches and a harbour, hospitals and a regional commercial and cultural offer; Pesaro is the birthplace of composer Gioachino Rossini and hosts the Rossini festival. The local economy combines seaside tourism around Pesaro with agriculture and small manufacturing inland.
