Villa a schiera in Sommo

This is the flat lower Lomellina plain between the Po and Ticino systems, with rice fields, poplar groves, irrigation canals and embanked rivers shaping the landscape. The Po runs nearby to the south, and the countryside around Pavia is known for rice farming. Pavia is the nearest city of size, with a historic centre, the Certosa di Pavia in its territory, and rail links toward Milan and Genoa.
