Villa a schiera in Riace

The area sits in the lower Ionian-side hills of Calabria, with short valleys running down to the Ionian Sea. The coast near Riace Marina is the Costa dei Gelsomini, with long beaches on the Ionian. The nearest larger centres on this stretch are Locri and Siderno, which provide the main shops, services and rail access for the area. Riace is known nationally for the bronze statues found off its coast, the Bronzi di Riace, now kept in the archaeological museum in Reggio Calabria.
