Acate

This is the flat to gently rolling plain around Vittoria, with intensive agriculture and greenhouse cultivation across much of the surrounding countryside. The nearest coast is the Mediterranean at Scoglitti, with low sandy shoreline rather than cliff scenery. The nearest town of size is Ragusa, which has the larger range of services and the well-known historic core of Ragusa Ibla. The wider area is known for wine from the Cerasuolo di Vittoria zone and for horticulture.
