Via Belvedere, 1, Acate

The Monti Iblei (Hyblaean plateau) and their low limestone hills are the principal landscape elements within the local 15 km radius. The Dirillo (ancient Achates) river runs through the surrounding lowlands and is the main local watercourse. The immediate area is dominated by agriculture: vineyards, olive and almond groves and extensive greenhouse horticulture on the Vittoria plain. The Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG wine zone covers parts of the surrounding countryside. The nearest larger town is Vittoria, which functions as an agricultural and commercial centre with a major wholesale market for fruit and vegetables. There are no national parks or ski areas in the immediate surroundings.
