Strada Statale 4 Via Salaria, Rieti

The cluster is in the Rieti basin under the Sabine Apennines, with Monte Terminillo immediately to the north. The Velino runs through the area and the Piana Reatina is the main landscape around the town. The Monti Lucretili Regional Park lies to the south-west within this part of inland Lazio, and the Monte Terminillo area has ski lifts above Pian de’ Valli at roughly a 30-minute drive. Rieti is the main town and has a substantial historic centre, services, and the early medieval stone bridge and cathedral area. The area is known for the Valle Santa linked to Saint Francis, with sanctuaries at Greccio, Fonte Colombo, La Foresta and Poggio Bustone in the surrounding hills.
