The cluster is in the middle Calore valley below the Alburni mountains. The Calore Lucano river runs by Felitto and forms the Gole del Calore, a river gorge used for canoeing and walking. This is inside the Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park. The nearest town of some size is Roccadaspide in the inland Sele-Calore area; for a wider range of services people usually look to Capaccio Paestum or Battipaglia farther west. The area is known for river gorges, mixed woodland and inland Cilento villages; Felitto itself is also known locally for fusilli.
