Via Pantano, Polla

The cluster is in the Vallo di Diano, with the southern Campanian Apennines around it and the mass of the Cilento mountains and the Alburni not far off within the wider basin edge. The Tanagro river runs through this area of the valley. The Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park reaches this part of inland Salerno province. Polla is the nearest town of size in the immediate area and has the normal services of a small inland centre; Sala Consilina nearby is the larger service town in the valley with shops, schools and hospitals. This inland part of the province is known for a broad farmed valley enclosed by limestone mountains and for cave and karst landscapes in the Alburni area.
