The cluster sits in the Cilento hills above the lower Alento valley, with the Tyrrhenian coast and the Gulf of Salerno about 4 km away. The Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park begins nearby and covers the inland ridges and much of the surrounding territory. Agropoli is the nearest larger town, with a full range of shops, services and a rail station, and Paestum is nearby with the UNESCO archaeological area of the Greek temples and museum. The area is known for olive groves, Mediterranean scrub and the Cilento coast-and-hill landscape.
