Contrada Perillo, Montesano sulla Marcellana

The cluster is in the Vallo di Diano, with the southern Campanian Apennines around it and the mass of the Cervati area to the west. The Tanagro river runs through the valley. Much of the surrounding mountain area falls within Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park. The nearest sizeable town is Sala Consilina, which provides the main services and retail for the valley. Padula is nearby, with the Certosa di San Lorenzo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This part of the Vallo di Diano is known for a broad inhabited valley floor between limestone mountains, olive groves and mixed farming, with caves and karst features in the wider area.
