Via Pietro Nenni, Monte San Giacomo

The cluster is in the Vallo di Diano below the southern Campanian Apennines, with the Monte Cervati massif and other mountains of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park within the local landscape. Sassano is known for the Valle delle Orchidee, a mountain valley on the edge of the town with a large concentration of wild orchid species. Sala Consilina is the nearest larger town and provides the main shops and services for the valley. Padula, a few kilometres away, has the Certosa di San Lorenzo, a UNESCO-listed Carthusian monastery. The area is known for mountain pasture, woodland and the broad cultivated floor of the Diano valley.
