Trulli e lamia

The area sits on the Murgia dei Trulli in the Valle d’Itria, a karst plateau of low limestone ridges, dry-stone walls, olive groves and trulli scattered through the countryside. Martina Franca has a large historic centre with Baroque and Rococo churches and palaces, and within this same landscape are Locorotondo, Alberobello and Cisternino. Alberobello, within about 15 km, is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its trulli districts. This part of the Itria Valley is known for trulli, stone rural architecture, olive oil, vineyards and capocollo di Martina Franca.
