The cluster sits on the northern slopes and plateau of Monte Baldo, with forested ridges and alpine meadows above the Vallagarina. The Adige valley (Vallagarina) runs a few kilometres to the east and the Adige river and its transport corridor are the main lowland feature nearby. Local ski lifts and winter slopes serve the Polsa–San Valentino area on the Brentonico plateau (small local ski area). The nearest town of size is Rovereto (regional rail station, hospitals, shops, the MART modern-art museum), about a dozen kilometres to the east. The surrounding land is a mix of mountain pasture, woodland and smallholdings; the wider valley is used for vineyards and fruit orchards typical of Trentino. No national-park or UNESCO status is attached to the immediate locality.
