Contrada Ragalia, 63/B, Marsala

Coastal setting on western Sicily beside the Stagnone, a shallow coastal lagoon with small islands including Isola di Mozia (Mozia), a Phoenician–Punic archaeological site. Salt pans and traditional windmills line parts of the nearby shore and sea-salt production is active on the coastal plain. The Stagnone's shallow, windy waters are used for wind- and kite-sports and there are small harbours and boat services to Mozia and other local islets. The surrounding territory is a low coastal plain of vineyards and olive groves with local cantine and production of Marsala wine. Marsala is the local administrative and commercial centre with an historic town centre, port facilities and services.
