Castel del Monte stands within this radius on its isolated hill and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alta Murgia National Park begins close to Andria and covers much of the inland plateau landscape of karst grassland, rocky ground and scattered farms. The Adriatic coast is near, with the port and beaches around Barletta and Trani serving as the nearest seaside towns. Andria itself is a large town with full services, a substantial historic centre and rail links. The area is known for olive oil and wine, and for Castel del Monte wine production.
