The Porto Conte Regional Natural Park is nearby, and the Capo Caccia area is also protected for its coastal karst landscape. Alghero is the nearest town of size, with a walled historic centre, port and full services. The area is known for olive groves, grazing land and the Nuragic archaeology found across this part of north-west Sardinia.
