Casa indipendente, Sessano del Molise

The cluster sits in the upper Molise Apennines, with the Matese mountains to the south and west and the Mainarde range farther west. The Trigno basin and the headwaters country around the Molise interior shape the surrounding landscape, with mixed farmland, pasture and wooded slopes. The National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise is outside the 15 km radius but not far to the west, and for daily geography the area is more defined by inland mountain foothills than by a protected park. The nearest town of size is Isernia, which has the main services, rail connections and a substantial historic centre. This part of Molise is known for transhumance country, upland farming and small stone villages.
